Dinner! |
There has been so much going on this week. On Tuesday I
went on divisions with the lideres de la zona (zone leaders). I stayed in
Chichi with Elder Smith. That night we got two fechas (dates) for baptism. It
was really great. The only problem they are under 18 and we need the parents’ permission.
If we don’t get the permission my heart is going to break because Juana just
loves everything we are teaching her and the Alicia likes everything; she is
just quite but you can tell the spirit has touched her. Also on divisions we visited
Elizabeth and asked her again about baptism, she said no. She said she needs
more time and then said one day I will, just not right now. My heart broke and
I started to cry. My heart still hurts because I know the gospel will change
her life forever. Sergio is doing great, he hasn’t committed to baptism yet. The
last lesson we taught him was about receiving answers and recognizing answer.
The lesson amazing, he understood everything we said. We visit him tomorrow and
we will find out if he has received an answer. I’m praying he will receive an
answer.

Love These Kids And Elder Navarro!! |
Yesterday was a country wide broadcast from Utah. Elder
Eyring and Elder Scott spoke so did the General Primary President, Rosemary Wixom
and the members of the seventy that are over Central America. It was very good.
I was able to understand one whole talk and about half of the others. Elder Scott
spoke about respecting your wife, pornography, and living correctly. He
delivered his message right on the spot. His is the only one that I can truly remember.

This week I have been studying baptism. Wow, it is so
important. I read about baptism from the teachings of Joseph Smith and he nails
it right on the point. Basically if you’re not baptized there is no kingdom of
heaven for you. You will not be recognized when you walk up to the steps of
heaven. Also even if you were baptized
in the church but for some reason you didn’t receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
your baptism is not complete. There are two parts, premerio agua (water) and
the second fire. The fire is the Holy Ghost. Nefi says if Christ needed baptism
by water than WE must NEED it to. Christ was perfect and he didn’t need to be baptized
but as he states to John the Baptist, it is to fulfill all righteousness. Christ
says himself if a man is not born by the spirit he will not enter the kingdom
of heaven. Baptism is one of the most important covenants we will ever make in
this life. We take upon ourselves the name of Christ. We promise to live correctly
and to stand as a witness. We must follow Elder Holland’s advice, “May we
stand by Jesus Christ at all times and in all things, and in all places, even
until death, for surely that is how He stood by us when it was unto
death and when He had to stand entirely and utterly alone.” Commit now to stand
by Christ. That is my challenge to everyone: Stand By Christ no matter what and especially when feel alone or,
worse yet, feel abandoned. The Savior has promised, I will not leave you comfortless: My Father and I will come to you and abide
with you." Elder Holland shares this with us, "You
will be blessed with unfailing companionship of this Beloved Son, the
consummate gift of the Holy Ghost, angels in heaven, family members on both
sides of the veil, prophets and apostles, teachers, leaders, and friends.” You
are never alone Our Savior is standing right next to you. As you take this
challenge you will find more missionary opportunities and you feel his love so
much more. Choose ye this day whom you will serve is it the Lord or Satan.

As I have taught this week I have learned one thing—everything
points to one book. That is the Book Of Mormon.
I find myself always saying the Book Of Mormon
is true and IT IS!!!! It is so very central to our conversion; it is the word
of God. When we have investigator who will read the Book Of Mormon it so much easier to teach them because they are continually
being touched by the spirit and then we have others that don’t read; it is
harder because everything relies on the Book
Of Mormon. Elder Callister’s talk on the Book Of Mormon nails the doctrine of the Book of Mormon. "The Bible is one witness of Jesus Christ; the
Book of Mormon is another. Together with the Bible, the Book of Mormon is an
indispensable witness of the doctrines of Christ and His divinity. Together with the Bible, it ‘teaches
all men that they should do good’ (2 Nephi 33:10). And together with the Bible, it brings us to ‘one Lord, one
faith, one baptism.’ That is why the Book of Mormon is so crucial in our lives.”
I testify The Book Of Mormon is the
WORD OF GOD, EVERY SENTENCE, EVERY PAGE and EVERY VERSE. Keep losing
yourself in the scriptures for that is your personal time with the Savior and
always keep the faith.

What I love about Mom is that she sits by the computer waiting
for me to get on. What I love about Dad is that he has taught me to always keep
walking and if it’s not hard it’s not worth it. Ducks forever!!!!
Love,
