Dreaming In Spanish And We Are All Enlised

Sharing The Gospel In A Tut Tut
This Saturday I will be in Xela--Elder Cook will be here!!!! I am so excited! A tender mercy to hear and see a special witness of Christ. The gospel is amazing! I have been so excited to tell you that last night I dreamed in Spanish!!!! I don't remember what was said but I remember understanding all of it. It was nuts because the dream was in English and in Spanish. Crazy.
Everybody Loves The Tut Tut
This week we contacted a pastor en la calle (in the street). I bore my testimony and said, "la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días es the only true and correct church on the earth today." He said, "muy bien" (OK) and then counter attacked with, "You shall know the false prophets and you shall know the fruits of the true prophets." I wanted him to know that were witnesses of Christ so I ended the conversation with by asking him, "Do you remember the confession of Peter?" He said, "Yes." Then I felt like I should share the story anyway when Christ asks, "Who Am I?" Peter responds with these words, "You are the Son of God, Jesus Christ." And Christ says no man has revealed this to you but my Father through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 16:15-17) http://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/matt/16.15-17?lang=eng I said, "You to can know like Peter and I testify though the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ. And I'm here to share with you His message about His plan for each of us." We didn't get an appointment with him but he told Elder Navarro and I that we could come him visit him at his store. We will definitely go by his store, you never know. That definitely was a highlight of my week!
Where Are We Going?
On Saturday Elder Navarro and I went to two different mountains. Holy cow I was dead. Sometimes somebody will drive by in a truck and we will hop in back. Anyway we met so many people that said they attended this one church because its close. I was like what, seriously come to our church we have the truth, we have what you want; so come. It was crazy that they just go to this one church because it is close. They don't even know what that church teaches. We also met this one guy who is evangélico which is crazy because he told us that we have the power and authority and we are servants of God. I was thinking does he know what he just said to us. He continued to talk about other stuff and rip on himself and his church without knowing it and then he told us we could talk another day. Of course he barley gave us enough time to get his name. I'm telling you that going to the different mountains was sweet, I loved every second of it.
Traveling To The Mountains
This has been another rough week. It has been hard on the body and the soul. Seeing the wickedness in this world and having people say the church is true and the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet and then say no to baptism. That is one of the most frustrating things and is so heart wrenching. Satan works so hard to prevent souls coming unto Christ. This week I truly realized how much pressure missionaries have. The pressure is this; I feel like we have our investigators salvation in our hands, we can't fail or slip, we have to be perfect. But we are not perfect. I'm so grateful for the Atonement to take away our imperfections. We need the Atonement because of this reason. Through the Atonement he extends His hand to us that we may feel a forgiveness in our heart. We need a lot more missionaries to be apart of the rescue and teach about the gift of the Atonement. In the words of Elder Ballard, "We don’t need you to just fill a position; we need your whole heart and soul. We need vibrant, thinking, passionate missionaries who know how to listen to and respond to the whisperings of the Holy Spirit. This isn’t a time for spiritual weaklings. We cannot send you on a mission to be reactivated, reformed, or to receive a testimony. We just don’t have time for that. We need you to be filled with “faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God” (D&C 4:5)." We need missionaries prepared and worthy. On this note I want to share the talk I have read to many times to count and it is the Mormon Message I watch every morning. It is Elder Holland's talk, 'We Are All Enlisted' http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/10/we-are-all-enlisted?lang=eng I have know and have seen we have to many of the youth in the church who play for both teams, God and Satan. Elder Holland said, "This is a life-and-death contest we are in, young men, so I am going to get in your face a little, nose to nose, with just enough fire in my voice to singe your eyebrows a little—the way coaches do when the game is close and victory means everything. And with the game on the line, what this coach is telling you is that to play in this match, some of you have to be more morally clean than you now are. In this battle between good and evil, you cannot play for the adversary whenever temptation comes along and then expect to suit up for the Savior at temple and mission time as if nothing has happened. That, my young friends, you cannot do. God will not be mocked. So we need young men already on the team to stay on it and stop dribbling out of bounds just when we need you to get in the game and play your hearts out! In almost all athletic contests of which I know, there are lines drawn on the floor or the field within which every participant must stay in order to compete. The Lord has drawn lines of worthiness for those called to labor with Him in this work." Satan is a real and is set on destroying every single one of us. That is his goal. The master of evil has been here since Adam and Eve. He has so much more experience than us. He knows every trick to use and ways to entice us to love the things of world more than God. He is the opponent that knows everything, when we watch his film and read his stats he seems unbeatable at times. Through his cunning ways the sons of Mosiah became discouraged and depressed for a short time. The good news we have the best, the most powerful and the smartest coach on our side, God the Eternal Father and his beloved Son, Jesus Christ. With them and using their game plan we can and will smash Satan. The game plan is very simple and so easy to understand, Come Unto Christ and feel His love for you. As we do this we experience a change in our heart. We will also have courage and strength to fight against Satan and his team. Heavenly Father and our Savior has provided us with a playbook: the scriptures. We have also been given added strength through power in the priesthood which is power and authority from God. We need play with our heart and receive strength from the Lord through gift of the Atonement when we fall short. The atonement is amazing and it is real. Would you like to have it blazed upon your soul that the Savior descended beneath your sins and that there is no sin, no mortal plight outside the merciful reach of His Atonement—that for each of your struggles He has a remedy of superior healing power? Then read the Book of Mormon, it is our playbook. Heed to the words of Elder Holland, "Every one you can leave behind any transgression with which you may struggle. It is the miracle of forgiveness; it is the miracle of the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ. But you cannot do it without an active commitment to the gospel, and you cannot do it without repentance where it is needed. I am asking you to be active and be clean. If required, I am asking you to get active and get clean." As Elder Holland asks, "I ask for a stronger and more devoted voice, a voice not only against evil and him who is the personification of it, but a voice for good, a voice for the gospel, a voice for God. Brethren and sisters unbind your tongues and watch your words work wonders to help bring the lost sheep unto the good Shepard." Right now I am living the gathering of Israel, it is the most amazing thing in the world. As Joseph Smith said, "After all that has been said, the greatest and most important duty is to preach the Gospel" I know that statement is so true. We need to partake of the bread of life and share with our neighbors. Heeding to the words of Christ will lead us to eternal life. As we partake of His words we will always be full. Let each of us be a more devoted voice, a voice for God. God lives and so does his beloved Son, Jesus Christ. This is his work and nothing will stop this work from reaching all ends of the earth. Lets help His work spread more rapidly by willing to share our love for the gospel. Our message is one faith and hope in the Savior of Jesus Christ.
